PACKAGING, THE RIGHT TYPE FOR EVERY FOODSTUFF

packaging

Packaging plays the most important role in the identity of the product. All processed foodstuffs are

preserved in suitable containers. The packaging represents the interface between the product and the

environment, therefore protection is its most important responsibility. Protection is understood as:

– Protection from external agents
– Protection from chemical and microbiological contamination
– Protection from nutritional and organoleptic changes

Packaging must be light, resistant, practical and designed in a way that allows reuse or recycling.

Packaging also contains a variety of useful information so as not to mislead the consumer.

Peeled vegetables and pulses are preserved in tinplate cans according to their type, with further

protection provided by internal paint.
